Metamorphosis Monday

It's been ages since I've participated in a MM, so I'm excited to be participating this week. Want to see more fabulous metamorphosis ideas? Visit blogger extraordinaire Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more MM posts by the design and decor queens of the blogosphere.

This week I have a simple, quick makeover for you that is also inexpensive.
Before: builder grade chandelier in the dining room that originally had no shades. BORING!! I'm also not a big fan of the brass, so the chandelier stays until we buy proper dining room furniture. I added the black shades a number of years ago and that was the end of it--until...
I'd been on the look-out for new, dressier shades to replace the simple black ones already in place. I spotted these in Tuesday Morning and quickly began counting how many they had, hoping they had the 5 I needed. I can't tell you how many times I found only 3-4 matching shades and had to leave them behind. I couldn't wait to check out once I found exactly 5 on the shelf. While I was buying them ($3.99 each), the cashier asked me if I had had them on hold before and I told her I hadn't. Apparently they had just put them back on the floor only minutes before I got there because the lady who previously put them on hold never came back for them. Her loss is my gain!
One more time - BEFORE
AFTER!!!!
They aren't nearly as shiny as they look in this shot. I didn't have time to keep playing with the camera settings, so this will have to do. Now I only wish they'd had these shades in larger sizes for some of my other lamps!! :)
Blessings and happy decorating!
Linda

Hi Linda,
I received the lovely bracelet & earrings you made.
Thank you so much! I love them and will enjoy wearing them often.

P.S. I have the same chandelier in my dining room but we spray painted it black and I added ivory shades with black trim. It looks so much better.

I have a similar chandelier in my diningroom and it needs HELP. Lots of great ideas here... plus I love the bee shades. Very Frenchy!

Since your online name is redsoxmom, I guess we have something in common (besides living in VA and enjoying decorating). GO SOX!!
